Introduction
At the center of every Christian wedding stands a promise — a vow spoken before God and the people who love us. These words are more than tradition. They are the beginning of a covenant, echoing Christ’s faithfulness and shaping the life two people will build together.
The following vow options give couples language that is simple, beautiful, and rooted in Scripture. They may be used as written or adapted to reflect the hope, devotion, and grace that mark a Christ-centered marriage.
1. Traditional Christian Wedding Vows
Groom/Bride:
I, [name], take you, [name], to be my husband/wife.
To have and to hold,
from this day forward,
for better, for worse,
for richer, for poorer,
in sickness and in health,
to love and to cherish,
as long as we both shall live.
This is my solemn vow before God.
2. Short and Simple Christian Vows
