Prayer for the Day: A Simple Prayer – Matthew 6:9–13
Introduction
Some prayers carry us through a lifetime, and none more than the one Jesus taught his disciples. The Lord’s Prayer is simple enough for a child to learn and deep enough to shape a life of faith. Reflection
At its heart, the Lord’s Prayer is not about getting what we want but aligning ourselves with what God wants. It brings heaven and earth together in one breath. When we pray for daily bread, forgiveness, and deliverance, we’re reminded that life is sustained by grace.
A simple prayer is not a lesser prayer—it’s an honest one. It centers us in dependence and draws us back to what matters most: God’s kingdom, God’s will, God’s care.
At midday, when distractions multiply, let this prayer be your anchor. Speak it slowly, and let its rhythm draw your heart into stillness.
