Prayer for the Day: Bless My Family – Numbers 6:24–26
Introduction
Family is where we first learn love, patience, and forgiveness. It’s also where we sometimes struggle the most to show them. Midday prayer gives us a moment to lift our families to God—the ones we live with, miss, or remember. Blessing our families in prayer is an act of gratitude and hope, trusting that God’s care surrounds every person we love.
Whether your family is near or far, whole or healing, this prayer is a way to ask God’s peace to rest upon them and to renew your heart with gentleness and grace.
Scripture
“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.”
— Numbers 6:24–26 (NRSV)
Reflection
These words from Numbers are among the most cherished blessings in Scripture—a prayer of light, grace, and peace. To speak them over our families is to invite God’s presence into every part of our shared life: in laughter and in tears, in morning rushes and evening quiet.
Prayer for family isn’t just about asking for safety or provision. It’s about shaping our hearts to love more deeply, to forgive more quickly, and to cherish one another more fully. When we lift our family to God, we place them in the care of the One who loves them even more than we do.
At midday, pause and picture your loved ones. Let each face become a prayer.
