Prayer for the Day: Light to the Nations (Epiphany)

Introduction

Epiphany is the celebration of revelation—the moment when the light of Christ shines beyond Bethlehem and into the world. The Magi’s journey reminds us that God’s love knows no boundaries. The same star that guided them still invites us to follow, to seek, and to bear that light into every corner of our lives.

Epiphany teaches us that faith is not just found in seeing the light but in becoming bearers of it. The world still longs for hope, truth, and compassion—and Christ’s followers are called to reflect His radiance.

This prayer is for those who wish to carry the light of Christ with courage and joy, shining in places where darkness lingers.

Scripture

“I will give you as a light to the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.”
— Isaiah 49:6 (NRSV)

Reflection

The promise of Isaiah finds its fulfillment in Jesus—the true Light of the World. Yet that light was never meant to stop with Him; it was meant to spread through His people. Epiphany calls us to awaken to that mission.

The Magi followed the light and found Christ; we, too, are invited to follow His light into a world that needs it. When we live with compassion, mercy, and truth, we reflect His presence. The smallest act of kindness can become a star in someone else’s darkness.

So today, lift your eyes. The light has come—and you are part of its story. Go where it leads, and let your life shine with His glory.
