Year B Liturgy: The Gospel of Mark

Every Sunday of the lectionary year, in calendar order

Year B of the Revised Common Lectionary follows the Gospel of Mark, the shortest and most urgent of the Gospels, where Jesus is always on the move and the disciples are always catching up. Because Mark is brief, John's Gospel fills in, especially the bread of life chapter in midsummer and the Sundays of Lent and Easter.

Year B begins on the First Sunday of Advent and returns every three years.
