Morning Prayer for Easter – Luke 24:5–6
Introduction
Easter morning begins not with fear but with wonder. The stone is rolled away, and the words that changed the world echo still: “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen.” Morning prayer on Easter is a celebration of life out of death, light out of darkness, and hope reborn in every heart that believes.
This prayer is for all who wake on this holy day ready to rejoice—or for those who need the reminder that resurrection still happens. The tomb is empty, and love has triumphed. Let this morning be your hallelujah.
Scripture
“The women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, ‘Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen.’”
— Luke 24:5–6 (NRSV)
Reflection
Easter begins in the quiet of dawn—at a tomb, with questions and tears—and ends with joy that will not fade. The women came expecting loss but found life instead. God’s greatest miracle began in an unexpected place, and that truth still reshapes our mornings today.
Morning prayer on Easter invites us to live with resurrection eyes: to look for life where others see endings, to hope when the world says it’s too late, and to trust that Christ is alive and at work even now. The risen Lord meets us in gardens, in grief, in ordinary moments filled with grace.
Let this day begin with gratitude and awe. He is risen. And because He lives, everything changes.
